Thanks for joining us!
Spring is knocking on the door and we are stoked. We’re as excited as anyone about all things spring: the return of the color green, the lengthening days, the blooming of flowers, the warming temperatures…. but, to be honest, we quickly forget about all that poetic stuff once we start thinking about dry flies. Dry flies! They’re coming, and we are ready.
This week’s docket includes the infamous Stimulator and a salmonfly imitation. There is little we can say to properly endorse Randall Kaufmann’s legendary stonefly/general attractor pattern, other than to say that it’s on a short list of flies that one should always have when fishing in the west! The Salmon Slammer is a nice big foam bug that you should learn to tie as it can easily be modified to mimic hoppers or other species of stonefly.
