What is your favorite water?

My favorite piece of water would have to be the Bow River, as it can be a technical, quality fishery, with some rewarding fish.

What is your favorite way to spend a day off?

On my day off I would be fishing the mountain streams, as I do like to get away from the big city and enjoy the fresh mountain air for a change of pace.

What’s some advice that you think most anglers would benefit from hearing?

It is more important to learn how to read water and find out where fish are holding, then it is to get super technical with what flies to use. Find the fish first then determine what fly choice is best for the situation.
The other important piece of advice I would have to give is above all else, learn how to properly handle a fish, so we can continue to have healthy fisheries.

Has there been a time when a Loon product has saved your bacon?

One time I was trekking through a field to get to my fishing spot. Unfortunately, on my way I caught my waders on some barbed wire and tore them. I still had to cross the river multiple times, and using the UV Wader Repair I was able to patch up my waders and continue. My waders didn’t leak, and I stayed dry for the rest of the day.

PAULA'S GEAR

AMADOU PATCH

"My go to product when fishing foam flies and I need to squeeze out the water so they continue to float for a long period of time."

NOCTURNAL HEADLAMP

"Sometimes we are up before the sunrises to be on the water for first light which can have it's challenges if you're unable to see what you’re doing."

DEEP SOFT WEIGHT

"I love being able to choose how much weight I want to put on my line. With a piece of soft and malleable piece I can press it onto my mine and easily take off when not needed."

UV KNOT SENSE & UV WADER REPAIR

"They serve multiple purposes; from patching up waders, to making quick repairs on lines and flies!"

STANLEY'S ICE OFF PASTE

"Being in Canada we have some cold winters and that means frozen guides. This stuff saves the rods and fingers from constantly breaking off the ice."
