I have already used the light on the water and it is great. The range of beam is a real plus and the red light is great at night. I also use it when grilling after dark, thus it is a multi-purpose light.
Fantastic headlamp with multiple lighting modes including red and SOS signaling. Easy to adjust the head strap and the up/down angle of the lamp to suit your needs. I use it just about every day now. Rechargeable battery provides lots of runtime too.
Since the included battery is rechargeable, you don't need to buy batteries for this helpful headlamp. So it will eventually pay for itself. Never a doubt about its battery level once you plug it into a wall receptacle. Bright red light = battery not fully charged. Bright green light = battery fully charged. Simple and effective. When it comes to hook removal, this headlamp will help you get the hook out of your fish without inserting the hook into your own hand. This headlamp is a very handy size -- large enough to be really helpful, but small enough to conveniently fit into a tackle box. Best of all, not only can you select from three power settings, you can also use its red light feature which will safeguard your night vision. It's nice to complete whatever task you had that required illumination, and look up with your night vision at the same level you had before you turned this nifty little light on. Finally, the orientation of the light is adjustable, up and down. The only regret you'll have is that you didn't buy this light a long time ago.
I've owned a lot of headlamps over 20 years, Loon is the most comfortable and easiest to use. Just got it, love it.
I’ve had numerous lights over the years. The Nocturnal Lamp Is the lightest and brightest I’ve had. Being rechargeable is a plus.
