ERGO BOBBIN

ERGO BOBBIN

DESCRIPTION

An ergonomic and high-performing update to the indispensable tying tool. The powder coated ergonomic handle rests perfectly between the thumb and fingers, while the spring steel spool holder allows for easy adjustment in tension by changing the pressure applied by grip. The tube is designed with versatility in mind: the high gauge works well when tying small flies, and the tube is long enough to tackle large patterns as well.

FEATURES

  • Ergonomic thumb/finger grip system on barrel
  • Japanese spring steel needle
  • Powder coated handle

HOW TO USE

Load thread and make magic at the vise.

Feels great in the palm. Could use a little tighter fit for smaller spools of thread especially when pulling on heavier stuff for predator flies, but will definitely add a couple more to the lineup.

Bobbin

At first it felt big and cumbersome in my hand and I have large hands. Then after tying about 2 dozen flies it started to feel more natural. I was using a collection of different bobbins before and wanted to make the few I had all the same so I am giving these a try. Currently I like the feel and thread control that the bobbins offer. I would buy another for sure.

Bobbin

I love how it feels in hand, nicest one o have owned but the thread fall out often. Maybe make the bobs that hold thread a little smaller?

Will be great bobbin after improvement/design modification

Pros.:
1. Solid design.
2. Ergonomically optimized.
3. Recommended for delicate and heavy work.
Cons.:
1. Very often spools slides of the holder (need to upgrade/modify shape of bearings – extremely critical issue).
2. A lot of sharp edges on a steel frame (cuts a thread).
3. Squeaky hubs with some bobbins.
