Put Flies Where Fish Feed
Trout feed on the surface roughly 10% of the time. Roughly 75% of the time they are feeding on or near the bottom of the stream. That means that if you’re not getting your flies down deep enough or quickly enough, you’re missing A LOT of fish.

Why Not Lead?
A little bit of lead causes big problems. And not just with fish. Discarded lead shot (from anglers and hunters) is often ingested by aquatic critters and travels up the food chain from there. That means everything from invertebrates to fish to aquatic birds (like the Common Loon) to larger aquatic animals to raptors to large predators.

Not Just Heavy
The tin drops were designed to do more than just sink.
Textured Coating: prevents slipping once secured to line.
Durable Matte Finish: Reduces sheen and makes the weights less likely to spook fish.
Stealthy: Both colors (black and camo) all but disappear in the water. Unlike uncoated lead weights, Tin Drops get flies down without drawing attention.
Re-Usable: the unique double-cut design makes it easy to adjust these weights, or remove them and re-use them another day. -
How We Rig It
Save your tapered leader for your dry flies! We’d highly recommend attaching a heavy section of tippet to your fly line, and then transitioning to a lighter tippet by using a Perfect Rig Tippet Ring. Attach your weight approximately 6 inches above your fly. Keep in mind that as current and depth change, you may need to adjust both the amount of weight being used and the distance between your indicator and fly.
