Fly Fishing Travel Professional, Fly Designer, Writer, Photographer
Ken grew up fishing the Sierra Nevadas and the rivers of Northern California. Before founding Fly Water Travel in 1999, Ken guided in Northern California, Oregon, and Alaska, worked in fly shops, and proudly claims he’s never been able to hold a job outside the fly-fishing world for more than a month.
Ken is a well-known fly designer whose patterns include the Morrish Mouse and Morrish Hopper, along with dozens of others produced by RIO Flies. Having had the good fortune to travel widely, Ken ties flies for a range of species including trout, steelhead, saltwater, and jungle fish.
Ken’s photography and writing have been published for more than 30 years in countless magazines and books, and he currently serves as Director of Travel Sales for Fly Water Travel. He also sits on the board of directors for the Portland-based Wild Salmon Center, helping protect wild steelhead and salmon throughout the Pacific Rim.
