We have tried a lot of dip floatants and love what they do to flies. What we don't love is how they smell, how flammable they are, and how inconsistent they are with our priority to make products that are safe for fish and fisheries. Fly Dip is proof that anglers shouldn't have to choose between a green product and a great product. It is compatible with all flies (including CDC), dries quickly, and can take even soggy flies and bring them back to life. It isn't overstating things to say that this floatant is a "game-changer".
I’ve been using a different dip style floating for a while now and I’ve been very happy with it. The loon fly dip is just as good. Serves a simple purpose and it delivers.
The new dry fly dip is incredible. It will become my go to tool for years to come! Great job Loon!
The product works well. I purchased two bottles and both of them had the retainer for the cap detached from the lid. The adhesive doesn't stick to the lid retainer piece. The powder, I assume tephlon, doesn't stay in suspension. It requires only a good shake before opening. Easy enough to do. I like all the Loon products that I have tried. Great company.
This product is easy to use and is effective for a long period.
This product replaced the Loon Hydrostop and its works great. The large opening allows you to dip your largest dry flies and yarn indicators.
The product does leave a white residue when it dries so be sure to carefully lower your fly into the liquid up to the hook eye. Keep your tippet out of the liquid.
After the initial Fly Dip treatment, I’ll use the Loon Top Ride (Powder Desiccant) to keep the fly floating high on the surface.
