UV resins allow for infinite work time but cure within seconds when exposed to one of Loon's UV lights. The result: a perfect application with a durable, clean, and glossy finish. The three different viscosities were developed to perform in three different circumstances:
UV Flow is the same viscosity as water and locks in threads as a head cement and provides a super-thin coating to heads, bodies or midges.
UV Thin is viscous enough to build heads or wing cases, but thin enough to coat bodies on small, low-profile flies.
UV Thick is perfect for building big heads, bodies, and wing cases.
This is the most flowable of all the clear finishes. My flies were always coming apart after a few casts. This material works great and the UV aspect allows instant drying when adding other elements to the fly.
P. S. I use the thick version to build up heads.
The line of Loon UV resins has made my nymph patterns so much more effective. Plus, the rapid curing time produced by the Infinity torch makes my tying time so much more effective. Move over Sally Hansen’s — There’s a new sheriff in town!
I've got their flow, thick and thin resins and I have yet to find a similar product on the market that beats these. Highly recommend.
I’ve used a lot of the different resins out there. To say I was dissapointed with my results would be an understatement. Since I started using Loon I’ve been really pleased with what I’m coming up with and I won’t waste my time with any other type of goo in the the solar zystem
When I was new to UV cure resins, I searched around for information on Loon Outdoors vs. their competition but decided due to their popularity that I'd stop searching and just try Loon's UV system - so happy I did! No smells, no smoke, cures fast, and a "sick" rechargeable light makes using this product a cinch. Highly recommended!
