I tie on a Renzetti Presentation so there isn’t much that is magnetic on it. That said, however, the rear of the jaws are flat and steel and it is fantastic to attach the pawn to the back jaw of the vise to pin material out of the way. And with that method, it is close to the hook, so there are a lot of tying applications that it will come in very useful for. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys tying flies. Only caution I can think of is check your vise and make sure there is an area it will magnetize to. If you have that, buy one!
I use a DynaKing vise and there aren't any straight surfaces to attach the Pawn and materials. As a result it doesn't really hold anything very well - even small tinsel and flash come undone moments after I attach them.
Very helpful and stays in place
This is very helpful to keep small materials out of the way until I need them again.
Didn't know I needed this until I got it. Use it all the time. How did nobody think of this before?
