Okefenokee: Land of The Trembling Earth
Deep in South Georgia, near the border of the Florida panhandle, lies a 438,000 acre refuge of wildlife, ecology, and beauty: the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge.
We recently explored San Francisco Bay Area with George Revel and Steve Adachi of Lost Coast Outfitters along with Evan Praskin of Stokeventures, as well as a few anglers from the Northern California surf fly fishing community; Pete Fazzini, William O’Neil, Paul Waters and Cash Bolo to experience fly fishing the Northern California surf. These passionate anglers share the story of the rise and recent decline of non-native Striped Bass due to water exports, climate change, over-fishing, poor water management, and the agricultural industry.
