Loon University: Staying Hydrated With A Conscience

Hogan Brown from Loon Outdoors shares a few simple ways he reduces single-use waste while guiding and fishing in Northern California.

Staying hydrated during hot days on the water is essential, but it doesn’t have to mean going through a pile of disposable plastic bottles. Hogan walks through his system of single-wall reusable water jugs and bottles, and explains why non-insulated bottles work particularly well when stored in an iced cooler.

He also shares a simple alternative to the plastic bags and aluminum foil that often come with packing lunches for a day on the water. Reusable stainless steel containers keep food cold, dry, and protected while eliminating a couple more single-use items from every fishing day.

None of it is complicated. It’s simply about making a few small changes, reducing unnecessary waste, and doing our best to Fish With a Conscience.
