Refining the magic

I have used the Ergo Bobbin since it came out and love it!
I recently had a warranty issue with one of mine and contacted customer service via email and boom within a day I had a credit for a new bobbin. I decided to try the newest version, so I ordered one immediately, it arrived like magic the next day. So much smoother and sensitive to work with plus, I love the bright yellow paint job, being a bit of a spaz at the vise, it saves me precious "looking" time.
Thanks gang!

It's a bobbin!

Functional, fits well in my hand. I have a number of the adjustable bobbins but I appreciate the simplicity of adjusting tension with pressure form my hand.

2019 Ergo Bobbin

These bobbins are a great value and an excellent design. I own three of them, each spooled with a different color of thread. I especially like the way that the part of the bobbin supporting the spool of thread fits into the palm of my hand allowing my natural grip pressure to control the tension applied to the spool. The design of the bobbin head fits well between my thumb and forefinger giving me good motion of control over the application of thread. I would recommend these bobbins to anyone wanting a good tool at a reasonable price point.

Ergo Bobbin (2019)

Of the many bobbins I’ve used over the years, this has without a doubt been the most comfortable in my hand and out performs any other by far. So much so that I know own 6 and wouldn’t consider using anything different.

Sharp and to the Point

I just purchased my second pair having burned out a pair tying several thousand flies and that should be a testament to my high opinion of these scissors. With a box full of good quality snippers to choose from, these are my go to scissors. The serrated edge for me is a must have and it fits comfortably in my hand throughout the tying process. The best part just may be the price which combined with the quality and durability makes for a great value.

Cutting Edge!

Awesome scissors. SHARP! High quality, adjustable grips and cuts materials without issues. Not all scissors are equal, these are evidence of that. Very easy to pick up off the bench due to the tension adjust.

Insurance in a bottle.

This is my most used Loon UV resin. It graces all of my finished flies. It is easy to work with, cures quickly with my trusty Loon Infiniti UV torch. Most importantly it gives me the confidence that my flies are finished with a strong, trustworthy resin that will hold up fish after fish or bad cast after bad cast.

Loon rechargeable light

This light is super bright it takes seconds to set your UV resin. I found the holy grail of UV lights. Thanks loon for another fine product.

Impressive

I purchased the Loon Infinity Light around the Christmas this year and am so happy with my purchase!

My first experience with UV resins was years back when Loon introduced Knot Sense. When applied to a knot and held in the sunlight, the resin would cure, and the knot would become encased in a hard shell. It was nice because it added extra strength to the knot and also because it covered the tag ends of your knot. Now the resins are used as both a knot sealer, similar to head cement, and as a sealer to encase the body of the fly so that it will sink faster and provide lifelike depth to the fly.

Prior to getting this light, I had been using a UV flashlight that I purchased for a few bucks. The light worked ok with Loon Knot Sense, but left the fly feeling sticky. I was able to further cure the resin by setting the flies out in the sun for an afternoon, but that was an inconvenience.

I had been debating for a while about getting a new light and which one would be the best for me. I read lots of reviews and finally choose the Loon Infiniti Light for two main reasons:

1. Loon has their own series of UV Resins. In my mind, their resins and curing lights are meant to work together.
2. The light is rechargeable. I like the fact that I will not be purchasing batteries for the light. For me, the initial investment is worth the cumulative cost of batteries and the environmental cost of recycling batteries over the life of the light.

The light came charged and worked immediately, but I choose to fully charge the light prior to using it. Once charged, I compared the strength of the new light to the light that I had been using. The difference was clear. The intensity of the Infiniti Light was many times more powerful than my previous light. The Infiniti Light cured the resin into a nice hard material that was not sticky.

I look forward to using this light for years to come.
