Curb Feeler
DESCRIPTION
Today we’re tying the Curb Feeler - a slender, hydrodynamic stinger leech pattern designed to ride hook-point down, push water, and trigger aggressive eats from both trout and steelhead.
This fly blends elements of trout-spey and steelhead flies, featuring a keel-friendly build, subtle UV weight, a flowing tail, and silicone “curb feelers” that add movement and irritation. It’s an excellent choice for swung presentations, soft water, or when fish are acting a little “trouty” in steelhead systems.
We’ll walk through building the shank, attaching a stinger hook, adding flash and movement, and shaping a cone-style front that moves water and brings the fly to life.
Tie a few up, swing them with confidence, and see what happens.
